Car has been serviced, oh my what a difference the Petronas oil has made. Thank you Dhillon for the recommendation.
Both hoses are now in place, throttle response has improved slightly and boost appears to be more positive and non hesitant. The hose next to the box had a small splits at various points and oil residue seeping from.
I have taken two sound recordings of the engine to see if there was a difference............ OH DEAR... Yes there is. The engine was significantly louder with the older oil in. The engine is running smooth and much quieter and this may sound odd, maybe something to do with the oil viscousity but the car doesnt seem to rev as easily yet seems to gain just as much pace and much much smoother.
I had a look at the oil when it was dropped and asked my brother to filter it through a cloth, after 4000 miles there appeared to be dregs and little black lumps, the oil was slightly greasy but nothing close to what the petronas currently is. To me that speaks volumes that the oil put in was cheap, nasty stuff.
Start up is much much smoother and easier, shut down is smoother with much no more rattle, idle is like caramel.
Hopefully now after the next service in around 6 too 8 thousand miles, she will be super prime, lucky so n so whoever the next owner is
if I sell on that is
If I can upload the sound clips I will, just need to work out how
So to clarify -

Next question........... The pollen filter.. There is a piece of insulation that sits under the pollen filter box, this has been flapping around since day one, is there some sort of retaining bolt or clip to hold it in place?? driving me nuts and it looks shoddy. Looks like something the council would leave behind
