Making a return. Advice please!
Hi, not been around for about 3 years since I sold my lovely 156 1.6 twinny for a 2008 Leon TDI. Anyway the Leon's been great but the arrival of our first child has meant that my wife needs a bigger car and she is getting the Leon.......so I can get a 156 back!
Want a little more poke than my last one so been looking at 1.8's and JTS's.
Found a lovely JTS in the colour and spec I want for the price I want. Quiet suspension, cambelt done 500 miles ago. MOT'd.....ticks all the boxes.
Anyway the problem.....the engine management light comes on intermittently. Now I clearly don't want to be buying a car with faults but I'm not sure its a big issue.
The owner said Alfa Diagnostics showed a potentiometer fault so he had it replaced but the light still came on some times,
Am I correct in thinking that an ECU reset could do the trick. Or as the fault is intermittent it could just be loose wiring that needs a solder?
