So my currently broken gt has been diagnosed as needing the injector in cylinder 1 replacing.
I've had the car since September, its covered 25k in that time and its had the following issues;
Split turbo hose
Keeps blocking the map sensor (5 times)
Has always smoked like a trooper
Replaced clutch (that was slipping but had minimal signs of wear once out)
Now it needs a new injector
The car is at my friends garage. After logging the car he's identified the injector issue and the fact that it has an unknown map on it.
I was all up for px'ing until about an hour ago and now I'm not so sure after the diagnosis from him.
In my head I'm now wondering whether the injector has been on its way out for a while and that along with the unknown map have contributed to the map and egr issues.
So am I mad for considering repairing, flashing back to standard map and keeping? Do I just have a 'bad in' that is going to keep breaking both itself and me
The alternative is to px for something of similar value. Is that going to be any safer than keeping what I have?
Any opinions welcome
