New low for main dealer service!
Well, just when I thought they were getting better, my local main Alfa dealer has hit a new low.
Whichever way you look at it, its either deliberate fraud or complete gross incompetence!
Paid the usual fortune for my official 24 month service to be done at my main dealer to protect the warranty some months ago.
The official service schedule for the 24 month service includes replacing the pollen filter and sure enough, there is a charge for a new one on my bill.
Wiping some traffic film off the inside of my windscreen today, I thought twice about this (why am I getting traffic muck inside the car????) and took the effort to remove the trim panel at the bottom of the windscreen that covers the filter.
Guess what - There was just a big hole and I could see straight into the intake of the heater fan. No pollen filter assembly whatsoever!
So - either they made no attempt to change the filter at all (and therefore didn't discover that it was already missing) despite this being an item that should have been changed - and charged me for the priviledge - or they simply took the old unit out and put the cover back on without fitting a replacement....
I'm now busy rehearsing my phone call to the service manager on Monday morning!
