Re: BEST PLACE FOR A ALFA 147 Selespeed
Do you put it into neutral yourself before you try to start it?
I know the system will automatically select neutral, but if it hits a glitch and can't select neutral on its own the engine will not even turn over.
When you have the 'problems' do you still hear the Selespeed pump running when you open the door?
Best practice is to:
Turn on ignition
Manually select neutral
Wait for all pump noises to stop (Selespeed pump & fuel pump)
Then try to start the engine
That will ensure that both the Selespeed system and fuel system are up to pressure.
If you can't hear the Selespeed pump, check the Selespeed pump relay (not sure where it is on a 147, on a 156 it is in front of the battery and marked "Diesel Heater")
