Yes, I did check and the bolt looks OK. Surprisingly it came out without a murmur which is more than can be said for the pinch bolt at the damper end of the fork!
Bizarrely, the bolt is cheaper from the dealer than the nut!
Even if I factor in the cost of holding stock for infrequently requested items, the price of some dealer parts seems hard to justify. I just replaced the radiator and most of the screws sheared off; no problem, they were left in the old rad, but the dealer would only sell a pack of 20 new ones at £1.27 each! I found the identical self-tapping hex-headed screws with captive washer for £3.89 on ebay!
Perhaps we need a reference thread for alternative sources for items like fasteners.
