Re: too many miles - about to buy jtd
I've just booked mine 2.0 TS in for an LPG conversion at £1550 inc vat and a car for the 3 days it takes to convert. They are busy so it wont be until the 24th Oct.
I get a 60 ltr tank that is 3.5 cms across the whole boot + the spare wheel well.
I worked it out that for 15000 miles at 30 mpg, 0.97 per ltr (ok its coming down) against 15000 on lpg at 25 mpg, 0.44 per ltr (thats coming down at the same rate as petrol) I save about £1000 per year. LGP gives a 15 to 20% reduction in mpg.
The tank will allow 48 ltr on a fill up and will go for about 260 miles, best part is only 21 quid to fill up.
Its a no brainer really.
The bonus is that I can transfer the system to another car, regardless of the number of cylinders, in the future. Ok the install charge may be about 750 but so what.
System start the car on petrol until temp reaches 30 deg and then switches. Its a sequential Multi point injection system with its own ECU that be tweeked. How much, I'm not sure. It also comes with a 2 year 60,000 mile warranty.
Just for your info really, hope its useful. It might help you keep your V6.
