I have just had my Alfa 156 2.4 JTD SW serviced by Reg Vardy in Darlington, 60,000 miles service, for a handsome fee of £210.
A few things cropped up all of a sudden (strange how that happens at about end of warranty time isn't it!) that I will get to in a min.
My main concern is that when I get into the car (normally when cold) it runs through the "checks" by the computer and sounds the buzzer to tell me that I have to go to a dealer due to (according to the computer) that I have no oil in my engine. I can leave the car a min or rev it slightly then turn it off, when I restart the engine it is fine and the oil is full.
Now it never did this prior to service and has only started doing this after the service.
I have checked the dipstick and the level is absolutely spot on - my question is:
1) what is wrong?
2) is it electrical
3) could it be something the garage have done at the service? (If the used crap oil would that effect the sensor at all?)
One thing I did notice is that they charged my for screen wash - screen wash I didn't need. I know they didn't change it as it is the same orange colour with a citrus smell (valvoline stuff) that I put in there. This small and insignificant thing does lead me to ask "I wonder what else the skimped on and charged me?"
Also where can I get a rear wiper blade apart from a main dealer - they want £26.00 as it is a whole unit!!!
Sorry for long post but I am a bit worried about my engine
