Went to visit my alfa at Motorpoint today and was a bit worried as I've only ever used dealers before.
Got there, showed them my paperwork, they gave me the keys and showed me the car and then left me to my own devices.
They shouldn't have bothered with the keys as the battery was dead and all the doors were open. The car was filthy, both inside and out, but I was sort of expecting this from comments from other people who had bought from Motorpoint.
The car itself looks fab, inca blue but has a purple sheen in different lighting - but then my mate noticed a few 'dinks' in the bodywork - further inspection showed a few bad scratches as well. By this time I was very dissapointed and went back to the salesman to cancel the deal - expected a lot of hassle.
Salesman asked me to show him the problems which I did, thinking 'here we go' - to my surprise he said 'no problem, give us a chance and we will get all of the bodywork fixed' - so we have arranged for another viewing next week without any obligation on my part - If I don't like the car I can walk away and they will return my deposit - as Rob J and sbaddison have said.
All in all I'm fairly pleased with Motorpoint - if they keep their word. Shame the battery was flat and I couldn't start the engine.
