If you're happy with the performance of the standard brakes, don't waste money on expensive 'upgrades'. Your best option is probably to buy standard-spec aftermarket parts; buying pads is, however, something of a minefield. Any pads now sold must comply with EC Regulation 90, which requires that their performance meets or exceeds that of the OE pads, which means that in terms of stopping the car any pad will do. However, cheap pads will fall down on the less quantifiable aspects of brake pad performance, such as pedal feel, noise, etc. For that reason you're better buying the well-known brand names - if you've never heard of them, there's a reason!
