147 air intake

I'm interested in buying a 147, I like the way it drives however I am concerned about the air intake. Does anyone know where the air intake is sited? Is it down at or near ground level? On cursory inspection it appears to be down low. I've already destroyed one Alfa engine with water getting aspirated into the engine through the air intake, , I'd like to avoid it in the future. Whilst careful driving will avoid this scenario occurring again it can't guarantee it.

I haven't had the opportunity to look comprehensively around and under the engine bay of the 147 so would appreciate the knowledge of those who have.

Re: 147 air intake

The air intake should be close to the gap between the lhs headlight and the bumper.
There should be an intake pipe running from low down on the airfilter housing, up to that area.

Relax - unless you plan to cross the Medway without the aid of a bridge - you will not have any water intake problems.
