[QUOTE=Paulo Mendes]Alfadublin, first I want to congratulate you for all mods you have done to your Alfa…you are many light years away from many tuner I’ve know!
About the times and the engine mods...now I have BMC CDA air filter, Full Inox Exhaust with only main Kat (no pré-kats), Warped Header, Remapped ECU (no rev limit +8000rpm), lighter flywheel (-0.8kg), reinforced clutch from LuK, new NGK Iridium sparkplugs I’m installing this week, etc….
Thanks and nice pics of your car.
What remap have you got to give you an 8000 +rev limit?
A remap like Angel Tuning,Autodelta,Novitec,Madeno usually only gives a rev limit of 7500 ,thats up 500 from the standard 1.6 litre 7000 rpm limit. But 8000+,on a standard engine, thats mad and insane.
I run a rev limit of 8000 revs, but you know how I am able to run that all the time. The engine is full race spec and can take it,also the Omex 700 engine management system sest the rev limit to what ever I want it at.
I can restrict the limit to 4000,5000,6000 or 7000 revs(actually any rev limit I want) at the touch of a button for normal road driving or when the car goes to an Alfa garage for a part or service. This means no little boy racer Alfa mechanics can rev it to the limit and race it down the road on me while they have it.They have done it before on me and I caught them in the act of it too.
They even tried to deny it to my face too, like I dont know my own car reg and what it looks like. They said that I had mistaken my car for a different one they were testing.
If you are realy running an 8000+rev limit on a standard 1.6 litre engine then you will do the valves in(bend them) and wreck the cylinder head and head gasket from excessive over reving all the time.Basicly you will blow the engine up.
It might not happen tomorrow, but it will happen soon.Thats a very expensive repair to do too.I know because I did blow a 1.6 litre twinspark engine 2 years ago even only having a remap done by Autodelta and only having a 7500 rev limit.Very expensive fix, trust me.
