Hi good people of Alfaland. I've just made a comittment to my 156, and fitted a towbar, (there's trust for you!).
Anyway, with previous cars I've been pretty crass and simply wired into the lights for the electrics, (I don't tow very often). However, the tow bar, (2nd hand eBay special) comes with a relay switch indicating the prefered, (and maybe correct way) is to wire direct from the front of the car. I would ask the guy I bought the towbar off, but as he said he fitted the towbar himself and didn't use spacers, I'm unconvinced that anything he says will be worth listening to
So here's my question: Has anyone fitted a tow bar to a 156 and wired directly to the rear lights? If so, did it blow any bulbs etc, or did it work just fine?
I'm sure some people will advise me to do it right, but, well... I know the the differentce between 'should' and 'could,' and I want to know if I could get away with it
Thanks in advance.
