In the last few days I've thought about selling the GT, it sits on the drive looking nice and I get to see it on the way to work and on my way back. I get to drive it once in a while, but not nearly enough, mainly due to the fact my Wife doesnt like the kids being in the back of a 2 door car for too long, not because of comfort, but in case of a crash apparently
. We also throw the bikes on the roof of the 156 sportwagon, so the GT doesnt get used if we go off biking as a family. i started thinking it was pointless just having a nice looking car on the drive and paying the Government for the privelidge, so i compiled a list ready to advertise the car. Replacement would likely be a dk grey or black 159 sportwagon 2.4 remapped, cream or beige leather.
So yesterday i headed off to Veloces to look at a couple of sportwagons and see what they'd give me trade in wise. I got about a mile from home, pulled out onto the dual carriageway and after 3 seconds thought ' no bloody way am I selling this beast!!' The sun was shining, windows down and I did about 80 miles for pure pleasure, did a couple of tunnel runs to feel the noise, did a bit of thrashing and a bit of cruising. Hadn't driven the car since Autoitalia, but yesterday after fending off the 'sensible motoring demons' I was reminded why I bought this beast- beautiful cabin, beautiful engine, beautiful ride and beautiful body. It's just such an awesome car, I didn't even make it to look at the 159's, it seemed a waste of time. Plan is now to get a tow bar fitted so we can put a 4 bike rack on the back.
And as if God was telling me something, I passed 3 GT's yesterday.
