Hi Jim, That's good going pal, did you do it on the floor or on ramps? Also did you do the mains or just big ends? I'm hoping the crank is ok, i wish i'd been able to run a micrometer over the journals but hey ho.
Hi Matkitch, what are the exact problems your having? I'm now at the point where the bigends have been replaced, so I've got oil pressure back up to normal now, but as you can see from this thread, time is the real judge on whether I've caught this in time, maybe the future holds a crank regrind or maybe it'll be fine. I still have a rattle but this sounds like top end to be honest. I can rule out the variator as this has been changed, maybe a rattling/sticky lifter although I doubt it. The big problem is noise resonates with metallic parts and is sometime awkward to pin point the noise. My next places to check are the balancing shafts, it maybe possible that one of these is rattling, possible the rear one, but obviously it'll be belt of and then run it.
