Help Beam bending for the other side of the Channel

Can anyone offer me any advice. I bought a set of stick on beam benders from Halfords in preparation for our Italian trip. The diagrams list a 156 but do not make reference to the model year. Has anyone fitted these before to a facelifted car and do you have any pics? I've searched the Alfa accessories catalogue but can't see any headlight protectors with integrated beam benders like the ones from Fiat or Vauxhall

Re: Beam bending for the other side of the Channel

For the 'old' 156 Alfa used to sell a clip on plastic cover for the headlights which was for beam conversion. It was a piece of sh*t with clips that broke off soon as look at them. (Yes I found out the hard way). I don't know if they have a part for the 'new' 156.

The easiest way is black electrical tape to mask off the part of the beam which goes high and to the left (for right hand drive cars to illuminate the left hand kerb). Remember that this part of the beam comes out of the lens which is low and to the right, (looking forwards from the drivers seat) the lens reverses everything. Remember also that the lens is polycarbonate, not glass, which means that it can easily be scratched with abrasive cleaners, and some solvents which you might try to remove the tape adhesive afterwards can disolve the surface of the lens.

Thumbs Up Re: Beam bending for the other side of the Channel

Your definately better off using black
electrical tape.
I drove around for a year, without the tape
coming off, before changing to a left-hand
drive car.
