Hi.... I have a problem with my gearbox on my 147 twin spark 20.
The gears wear hard to select and often got stuck and wouldn't stay in fifth great without jumping out......
I have taken the end plate off the gear box and found one of the 'staked nuts hanging off with three small parts loose in the gear box end.... These I assume are to do with the synchro and have popped these back... The nut is beyond repair but the shaft is ok... I have a new nut ordered but I was wondering if anyone has come across this before?
Also the gearbox seemed a bit jurky when driving as the gear lever moved back and too excessively I thought.... Is this due to the gears being loose on the shaft in which if that is the case then it has been loose some weeks while we have been driving around in it.... Or is it to do with mounts being worn.... What sort of costs are we looking at if its the later ??
