Canaries in boot
If I can't sort this out, with some help from the forum, my beautiful 147 5 door lusso may have to go.
Seemingly, a flock of canaries has taken up residence somewhere in my tailgate. They're not always there, but rough roads, potholes and concrete surfaces wake them up. Any time I try an adjustment, they go to sleep just long enough to lull me into a belief that this time I've sorted it out, and then one random bump, and it's the dawn chorus all over again.
Here's what I've tried....adjusting the door stops in, out, and removing them altogether.
Removing the parcel shelf, spare wheel and plastic carrier and all trim.
Waggling the wiper motor and housing about.
Greasing the catch, and wedging bits of paper bertween the jaws of the lock and the locating pin in the door.
Turning up the stereo.
I'd be very grateful for any advice on what to try next, it's not that I have anything against canaries as such, just don't want them in my boot.
