I bought an Alfa Romeo 147 03 reg Turismo 3 weeks ago, have had a few hiccups with it but apart from that it has been fantastic! Theres one that is really bugging me though and I've looked all over the internet countless times so was wondering if anyone could help me.
Unfortunately, when I bought the alfa there was a small leak in the pipe which connects water filter to engine (I never noticed this when buying) and due to this my car over heated. I had to drive it whilst it was over heated as it wasn't safe to stop, then when the AA came they towed it to my garage, for some reason after they towed the car the central locking wouldn't work?
As the car was used I only had one key and the remote on the key never worked so just now I'm having to manually open drivers side, then put key in ignition and unlock passenger door (same to lock). I thought this might've had something to do with the key but I've been quoted £290 for a new remote fob or £220 for standard key from alfa garage so not willing to pay if it isn't going to make a difference, I have also considered sending it to one of the alfa key fixers/copiers on ebay.
Theres a previous thread on here about central locking but people are reffering to it not working on the remote fob..
Can anyone advise?
I have also tried changing the fuse but no luck
Any input is appreciated, thanks!
