156 diesel injector washers missing
Just snapped the cam belt on my 2.4jtd and so started a strip down to see the damage. So far 12 rockers sacrificed. Not sure if to go further and take the head off yet to double check the valves. There's a few oil leaks, exhaust manifold never fitted correctly etc so might be brave and take the engine out and totally rebuild it. Anyway that's for another moment of madness thinking.
Question for this thread is two of the injectors were missing a little copper washer that the other three had on the injector end. This doesn't seem right to me. They're definitely not sitting at the bottom of the hole. Has someone in the past left them off or is this normal. I cant think it would be.
PS would any one else take the head off in my situation to double check the valves. or trust the design of the sacrificial rockers?
