In a pickle, opinions please?
Ok so I will cut to the chase.
Clutch pedal bite went low (to the floor), wouldn't really go into a gear suspected master cylinder, especially as a leak coming from the drivers side footwell area.
Confirmed master cylinder was leaking so changed by Indy in Leeds. Problem remained.
Had the car recovered to my native Derby. Clutch release bearing or fingers on pressure plate seemed to be likely culprit as sprint_veloce eluded to, and subsequently had a new clutch kit fitted, (flywheel checked and OK).
All put back together and still won't go into gear whilst running and i quote, no pressure in the clutch system. Now I've known these guys for a very very long time, my dad went there long before I was even thinking about driving. As a gesture of complete professionalism they are taking the entire assembly, clutch/gearbox back to bits to give everything a full check-over to eliminate any possible causes. (doing this as I type)
They do suspect the master cylinder may be faulty, through no fault of the indy in Leeds that did this, after all it could be a faulty part out of the box (this was fitted last Tuesday 23rd). They are not the type to pass on blame at all, hence taking everything back to bits again.
Of course all will be very appreciated as the car has now been off the road since the 15th!
