My CC has stopped working
Have checked both the clutch and brake switches - had them apart and set the plungers to the correct depths so they engage/disengage as they should.
Checked the fuse.
When I switch the ignition on, the green CC warning light does NOT light up. I thought it did before (I think it should then goe out when the engine is started). Is this right?
When up to 50mph and in 5th I try switching on the CC but nothing happens - the green warning light doesn't come on and cruise doesn't work.
History: Had water-pump seize a couple of weeks back but thankfully the belt was okay (all changed now) but I can't remember if I used CC since. I don't think so.
At weekend I got the VSC warning light on and my rear brake lights were permanantly ON even though the car drove correctly. I removed the brake switch off the pedal and noticed the plunger had popped out a long way. Pushed it back in and all has been okay since.
So, the question is - what's the next thing to check? Could the brake switch be knackered?
It looked okay when I pulled it apart, and the brake lights work okay.
