Black smoke when deccelerating.
Alfa GT 1.9 JTD, 125k miles, 2005.
Car drives fine, acceleration is fine. There are no fault codes, bar the EGR one that cleared, when I changed it.
Black smoke comes out of the exhaust in a slow puff, when I put my foot off the pedal. It happens mostly in 1st gear, when i start moving. Sometimes it other gears, but first gear seems to be the most apparent (maybe cos Im moving slower, so i can see it).
Ive checked both the turbo hoses, and they are fine. When spooling above 2,2k or so rpm, I can hear a screeching noise from the turbo, Its not very loud, but it is there. Sounds like something is escaping somewhere, but I have no idea where to look. Weird that ECU doesnt report anything either.
At the end of the day, its more of an annoyance, than a real problem. But Im afraid it will develop into something costly , if I dont find the reason soon.
