High Pressure fuel regulator? P1670 fault
I have recently had a second hand engine put in my car after cam belt failure. I have had to return the car to the non-specialist garage a few days after having the work done as I am still getting fault code P1670 and I am having poor acceleration between 3-4000rpm.
The mechanic has taken the car to the Alfa dealer in Norwich who says it's a problem with the high pressure fuel regulator/valve (not 100% sure if got that part right, please correct me). Unfortunately the rail being used on the present engine is from my old engine and the 2nd hand rail that came with the engine I bought does not have one on. Alfa say the part is nearly £1000 inc VAT!!!
Have I been ripped off when buying the 2nd hand engine? should it have come with a complete rail? can I get a 2nd hand fuel regulator?
This is costing me so much to fix and I just want my car back...
