Immobilizer Fault + other related issues (possibly)

After the beeping sound has now been sorted on my 147(Thanks again), now moving on to the immobilizer fault and a few other things to check.

Basic background is that the car sometimes throws the immob. error on the dash, and then takes a few "starts" before it works. However other times it works fine without any issues.

Only have the blue key for the moment, so not using the remote locking.

Have found however that if I unlock the car, and immediately start the engine. It seems to work every time .

Also the beeping noise from the car, sometimes fluctuates as though there is a brief power drain. (Not all the time but occasionally)

In addition last night the electric windows would only close in 10cm jumps. Would not close fully in one smooth motion. Engine running.

Did a search and noticed about the battery earth strap can cause issues, just wondered if anyone else had any suggestions about what to check.

Thanks again

This could be that the ariel that detects the chip in the key has a dodgy connection - there have been a number of threads on this subject and they will explain where this runs and how to access it.
