Hissing Sound when on boost

All, new Alfa owner, fantastic board! Searched the forum trying to diagnose the popular whoosh/hissing sound (lower or upper split hose. But looks like mine has a lower SAMCO hose fitted but this is what I found (definitely a pipe/hose missing).

What kind of pipe/hose is missing and where does it go?

I attach pictures of the engine bay.

Please help...

I don't have a 156 but if that square bit at the right side is the battery then that pipe should be the intake pipe heading out of the air filter box towards the back of the engine.

Can you see underneath if there is the other end or a pipe hanging about down there?
