Here's an update for the key situation,
- I bought a secondhand 156 key from Ebay with delivery, just under £20; I already had a blank key 'blade' supplied with the car (I think that came of Ebay).
A C Leigh in Norwich couldn't access the ECU (couldn't find the second socket) so they disassembled the secondhand key, cut the blade, cloned my original key and reassembled it so it will start the car.
I had to speak to Desira (Alfa Dealers) and give them just under £20 for the alarm/key code and then A C Leigh will programme the key to carry out all it's other functions. They will do this within the cost of £54 inc vat.
I shall post again shortly when (hopefully), I'll have a fully functioning key in my hand.
Currently it will unlock the car and start it.
