since owning the 147 (20 months) the air con has never worked, in fact the fans have never really blown very strongly and its always been warm air. This has been really annoying in the winter freezing my arse off and in the summer sweating my arse off.
I tried to get the aircon regassed but it still didnt work, I replaced my pollen filters which improved the fan blowing but it still only produced warm air. So I did some research on here last night and read that the bulbs in the heater controls could be to blame. My heater control dials have never lit up, so i thought i would try replacing the bulbs, whats the worst that can happen? and at the very least i can see what im doing in the dark.
A quick trip to the local motor factors, £3 spent on 3 new bulbs, ten mins later and hey presto the dials light up, now here is the kicker. The fans suddenly sprang into life, now being the optimist i pressed the air con button, hear a click and all of a sudden ice cold air blowing through!!!
Unbelievable! who would of thought 3 tiny bulbs could cause so much to go wrong, what a crap design! but i am one happy bunny.
So a big thank you to the club for the information to assist me in sorting this problem.
now on to the next problem, the flat tire if have just noticed on my BMW whilst parking next to it
