Keys, the age old question + some!!!
Hello all, now own a 156 Selespeed (1999)
It came with one red key, which operates the remote central locking and the ignition, it also has a non-remote blue key which gets you into the car, but does not work the ignition. I cars price came down by £100 to compensate for this as local alfa dealer charges £90 to supply and fit a new key.
Now my questions, 1) How many keys should a 156 come with? (Don't want someone wandering about with a key to my car who isn't me)
2) Can you get a standard non-remote key cut and code it to the immobiliser as you can Fiat and Ford keys? If so how?
3) Finally, I have the CODE card for the car, which the little alfa book says I shouldn't have due to insurance reasons in UK, is this a problem?
