Black smoke always when accelerating

Any input on what it could be. I always get blackish smoke when I accelerate from first, unless i do it like a granny. Could it be the thermostat, as it is kinda dodgy (going up to 80 max, sometimes it actualy gets to 90)?

Got a 1.9 JTDm GT. It drives fine, accelerates fine, everything from a drivers perspective ,looks fine to me. I get a "Water in diesel filter" message, every now and then, but that seems irrelevant to me.

P.S (I cleaned my EGR a couple weeks ago)

you have a split boost pipe most likely the lower one but check the upper one as well its well documents on here try a search, might be worth replacing the fuel filter as well all relatively easy diy jobs
