JTS connections hard wired/soldered, anywhere reccomended in the Fylde coast?
Hi Guys, like 98% of JTS owners, I'm a long suffering victim of the MCSF light and the numerous error codes that come along with it. I've tried a number of things after reading other posts on here, such as:
New Spark plugs (NGK Platinum)
Checked the air intake hoses
Cleaned all the electrical connections thoroughly with electrical spray
Cleaned the MAF with MAF cleaner
Replaced K&N air filter back to standard air filter
New Pre-cat Bosch Lambda sensor
Regular oil/filter changes 10/60 semi syth
Cleaned air intake butterfly with EGR cleaner
Disconnected the MAF (drove worse)
Think thatís about the lot up to now. I used to get error codes P1151 & P2240, but they seemed to have gone. I now have a constant P1161, this relates to the post-cat lambda sensor on bank 2 not working as it should apparently, I clear the code every couple of days, but it comes right back almost immediately. I'm a little apprehensive to go and fork out for another lambda sensor which I suspect I probably donít need?
After reading time and time again about the benefits of hard wiring the electrical connections, especially the two 27 pin blocks under the windscreen, I thought I may try that first?
Does anyone know anywhere in Lancashire or better still the Fylde Coast that they could recommend to do this? I donít mind getting my hands dirty and attempting anything mechanical, but when it comes to electrics, I think I'd sooner pay someone that knows what theyíre doing.
The symptoms Iím currently facing are a lumpy ride from 0-2500 revs, fine from 2500+ revs, and when idling, the revs drop so low that the car nearly cuts out, then just pulls back enough to prevent stalling, then does it over and over. Mpg could be better as well,
Any recommendations greatly received,
Many thanks, Martin
