The knocking is finally wearing me down
Had my 04 GT a year now, on getting it was shown how upper and lower wishbones had just been done etc and in fairness it was a nice drive apart from a knocking on uneven roads. Thanks to this forum I worked out it was the ARB bushes and had my trusty mechanic fit powerflex ones and I can honestly say it was like driving a new car. However after this harsh winter the car is awful again. I now have a knocking at the rear on uneven roads a knocking on the front again (possibly more left side) a creaking on pulling away and slow turning (like a plastic rubber creak) and most disturbing every know and then accelerating when on lock a massive clunk sound as though something is detached. It's booked in tomorrow with my trusty mechanic but I'm starting to look at the dark side and look at BMW's (1 series) The roads around Cannock Staffs are appalling and I just don't think the GT can cope. I only use the car on a weekend and cycle to work it doesn't even do 5k a year!!!!
Any thoughts on what I'm likely to be hearing from my mechanic???
If its too much I may trade the old girl in, it's my 3rd Alfa (previous 147 & 156) and they never knocked like this. I've experienced what it can drive like and it was amazing but it always seems to need something.
Cheers in advance
