Quick Question: 156 2.0 TS Air Box Cone
Ok, So I know the cone or 'Venturi' is there for a purpose, to produce air pressure forcing the air into the cylinders by restricting the bore diameter just at the opening (Venturi effect).
I have had my Venturi fitted for a while as so... with the lid of the box off, I have had the 'cone' inserted from the top then the elbow duct leading to the MAF clamped over the top of the cone and lip of the lid.
This puts the opening of the Venturi roughly in the middle of the cylindrical air filter (Inside)
But today I fitted the Venturi cone with it pushed into the underside of the air box lid because I think that was how it was fitted originally to this and a previous 156 I had. This now puts the opening of the Venturi cone 3/4 down from the top of the Air filter.
The Venturi cone has 4 big notches at the widest part of the cone and 4 little ones about 1/2" from the bigger notches. I assumed these notches (when fitted from top of lid) was the stop for fitment.
Car drives fine, in fact after a throttle clean it drove nicely but couldn't tell what difference it would make TBH
Can any of you Alfisti's give me some guidance on the correct fittment.
