Bad News need advice.......... 19/03/13
long story short , cars acting up drives horrible shakes n all sorts, it needed new ignition coils and spark plugs which i have now
but seems like one or more of the cylinders dont have much compression, from the advice from the guys on here it could be a few things listed below,
Worst case scenario's: from Grahameo
It could be either cylinder head gasket, worn piston rings, burnt out valves that are leaking past, even bypass leaks via the injectors.. Either way the cylinder head really needs removing, inspecting and testing on a vacuum bench at the very least, preferably with the injectors and inlet still attached to make sure it isnt either the injectors or inlet manifold leaking also.......
im thinking it is cheaper to just get a cylinder head 2nd hand then buy new valves etc
from what ive seen on the net
the cylinder head gasket is about £50 ish or less if im looking at the right thing
piston rings about £50 ish aswell
Valves £10ish from what ive seen on ebay etc
or is it a case of getting a cylinder head itself and if that is the case then i would rather get it off a car that is being broken down for spares then buy brand new
What do u think ?
