Alfa 156 2.4 JTD - Head removal
I have recently purchased a 156 2.4 JTD (2001) with a broken cam belt. Having removed the rocker cover its evident that at least 3 of the valves are damaged so I guess time to remove the head! Having searched the trusty font of knowledge that is AO, I have drawn a blank on any walkthrough for this process! Is there anyone that has advice on the best way to do this other than undo and remove as many bolts as possible until everything is loose?
Also, in the faint hope that all goes well, and the pistons are all servicable, am I right in assuming the sensor for injection timing is controlled from the camshaft? If this is the case I'm assuming replacing the timing belt is as simple as lining up the marks on the belt, cam and crank (ie, no chances of mistiming as long as all marks are aligned!). Am I correct in this or is it possible to get the timing 180 deg out?
I have tried to get hold of the eLearn CD that has been linked on here several times but none of the links Ive tried have worked (may be the works PC im using though!) . If anyone can advise on this too, I'd be eternally grateful
