24v V6 speedo in a 1.9 JTD ?

Does anybody know if the speedo in a facelift V6 (Auto) will work in a JTD ?

I've picked up an '04 24v V6 (auto) to fix the front end on our much loved '03 1.9JTD after a parking bingle. The V6 is a full facelift and has the nicer, smaller infocentre, the JTD is an interior facelift car.

I understand from reading in here that theinfocentre is driven by the speedo. Anybody know any reason (other than inorrect mileage) that might bugger things up if i swap them over?

I think the info centre from the V6 will work fine in your disesal.

Going from experience of the 155......it will read incorrectly.

The speedo is probably calibrated differently. In the 155, the V6 speedo reads the same as the 8v, but not the 16v, even though the units are easily interchangable.

Also the rev counter will read wrong by a third. The V6 rev counter is looking for 6 pings per engine revolution, the jtd 1.9 is looking for 4. So putting the V6 rev counter into the jtd will give you a reading of 1000rpm when the engine is actually at 1500rpm, 2000rpm when the engine is at 3000 and so on.
