Re: What should I be looking to check after first 6000 miles ?
Riot, as Throttleman said, dont try to get under the car on the original jack. Anyway, your car should stand flat so that all oil can go out of the sump. You need to lift the whole car. You also need a tool to remove the oil filter. Its cheap, but if you dont have it, it is difficult. It is good practice to exchange the seal under the oil sump screw too, just to be safe. There is 4l of oil in the sump and 0,4 l in the filter, so you need aproximately 4,4l to exchange it.
If you let the garage to do it and provide your oil, it should be fast and cheap. It is easy job.
