Headlamp Washer Relay
Hi Guys, need some of your specialty help,
Alfa Romeo Part No. 60549701 headlamp washer relay
BOSCH Part No. 1 397 328 006 (Originally fitted to car) See 1st Pic
Type into eBay and Google and description comes up as Time delay Relay Internal Light.
Its 5 pins, its a timed relay that impulses at 0.5 second, and is controlled via an IC chip that controls the solenoid.
See 2nd pic, Component J50
Pin 30 is a hot 12v feed from the battery (fused)
Pin P sends power to the washer pump when the solenoid is activated
Pin 31 is a ground loop switch at rest
Pin 56 receives a signal sent from Indicator stalk when the side lights are on
Pin S receives a signal from the Indicator stalk when the windscreen washer stalk is activated
In order for the headlamp washer relay to activate, Pins 56 & S needs signals on both in order to make the IC chip control the solenoid.
My Bosch relay appears to be faulty (See 1st Pic), as the headlamp washers do not operate, but i need to apply some voltage to the correct pins to definitely determine, But i ordered a 2nd hand Headlamp washer relay off eBay and it appears to be the wrong sort, i don't think its a timed IC chip relay.
This 2nd hand relay Alfa Part No. 7686773, when i plugged it in, all the lights on the car was on even with the key out of the ignition.
Can any one help me on this? and can someone give me a definite answer on what the correct part number is?
