Missing Alfa GT. Maybe another one?
Hi, I have owned a 147 2.0 TS, Alfa GT 1.9 JTD and now a BMW e46 M3.
I had to part with my GT with bare 5 weeks ownership due to a deal that was given to me for a 53 reg BMW M3 coupe.
So I have owned a M3 coupe for about 2 weeks now and it has 48k miles on it but oh boy, this car makes Alfa Romeo look like a joke. People who think Alfa is unreliable try a E46 M3. In two weeks, I had to spend 800 pounds on several failures even though the car has been serviced 3 months ago at 47.2k miles. Now it has 48.1k miles and I can't imagine how much I have to spend to drive it till 50k miles. It's fast and 0-petrol station in no seconds as well.
I miss my GT. Back then, I was in hurry because I really wanted to get one and had only 3.5k budget to buy one. Ended up with a 04 reg with 140k miles.
Not saying it was unreliable as I drove to London, manchester, liverpool and derby all in that 5 week time to put 6k miles but kind of being anxious about driving in case anything fails as it was high mileage.
So, I have about 5.5-6k budget this time. M3 was offered for 8k from my best mate who fancied one (wouldn't listen to me as I told him to get a GT!!!) and have to buy a cheap car for my girlfriend, preferably trying to spend 2.5k and 5.5k on GT for meee!
What mileage would be good? It's like if it's too low, I'd have to spend money on cambelt but don't want too high either.
Would I be able to get a Q2?
From previous GT experience, I'd like to have a Q2 (if not, not too important but would love to have one), heated seats, bose sound system, sat nav if possible, leather seats and JTD only.
Like a blackline would be good but on that budget, I assume it could be quite tight.
Also, does anyone have installed a good sound system with sub in GT before? I love listening to bass heavy music and would love to install one but heard Bose sound system is hard to get it out or something.
Sounds too much to ask. I'll shut up now lol
