147 Rear lowering

Ok first i tried apex lowering springs -35mm , the front im happy with but the rear sits like 10mm higher and after 7 months im sure it not getting any lower, so i brought some second hand eibach sportline springs from a 156 v6 these state -45-50mm lowering, so i fitted the back springs and its exactly the same height even when i put the two springs together there the same height, so my dilemma is shall i remove the rubber spring pad at the bottom of the shock to give it another 5mm or will this cause more problems than its worth.
