i've just got back from a trip to see a 156 Ti sportwagon 2.4jtdm. The advert looked mint and i was keen to see it for a number of weeks as i wanted to trade my 159 Ti in for it to release some cash. (Need a house!)
Anyway, what a bag of s**t!!!!
The advert says......."Absolute stunning condition." Far from it really. I expected there to be a few stone chips or a scuffs but it looked a little tired to me. the alloys were curbed and he put the cheapest possible tyres on the front wheels. Trim was missing and around the steering wheel area it looked as though trim had been forced away and damaged. The car started ok though.
What really got on my nerves though was that it was a wasted journey. In his advert it says "85,000 miles." Now when i was sat in the drivers seat it said 31,000!!!!!!!
I questioned the owner and the guy who Valets the cars and they said that at 51,000 miles it needed a new speedo because it just broke. I've never heard of this before so maybe anyone out there can clarify this? How does an electronic odometer just brake?? I just got the impression it had been clocked. But the service book did have a dealer stamp and receipt stating it had been changed. Maybe it's easy to get stamps these days??
It put me off the car and i'm a little sorry that i went there. I got the impression the owner tried to sell me everything else on his forcourt when i made it clear i wasn't interested! Has anyones else had dealings with this place?
It's a shame because he has a few 159 Ti's in there that look clean but just not sure its totally legit!
