Help me Save a 156
Just picked up a 1.8 TS 156, with the plan to rescue her from the crusher.
Quite a few fauts, but reading up on here I'm sure none are enough to warrent the crusher.
Main issue is MAF/Lambda/Air Leak (delete as appropiate lol)
When the car is started up the idle is rough, when I pull away for the first time there is a massive flat spot between 2 and 3 thousand RPM, but this goes away pretty fast. The car then feels flat/lumpy from about 2,500 rpm for the next 5 mins. After this once you get over that the car his flat and very inwilling to rev past 3,500 rpm, but below that she feels fine.
So my first job i guess is to run the engine and spray the air pipe to check if the engine note sounds (see if there is a leak). If nothing then disconnect the MAF and see if the revs over 3,000 rpm and 3rd if 1 and 2 dont fix it replace the Lambda sensor.
Also, even after 30 mins druiving the temp gauge barely went over the 50 degrees mark, so Thermostat stuck open?
Apart from that she needs a drop link and some front discs.
Hopefully im on the right track, please re-point me if the above sounds off the mark.
