I'm new to the alfa world, so apologies if this post is in the wrong place.
Right, I've just bought an Alfa Romeo 156 JTS Ti SW, the guy was apparently an enthusiast and regularly serviced the car, looked after it blah blah etc etc. But after doing a little service at the weekend it appears that all he's done is changed the oil and neglected everything else.
Its extremely tidy, I've had it since thurday last week and there are a couple of little gremlins starting to appear. This hasn't phased me in any way shape or form as I've always wanted an Alfa.
I had the big warning "motor control system failure" come up on the dash on friday evening, so I invested in a set of NGK Platinum sparks and a brand new battery. This ironed some of the creases out, but, not all. Its still coming up here and there. I went to my mates garage and he plugged it in. Its coming up as a misfire on cylinder 3...
Now, my thoughts are I should replace the coilpack, but is there anyone else out there with any other views on this situation? Whilst changing the sparks, I cleaned all the coils connections with contact cleaner as a precautionary measure, so I doubt its a bad connection.
Any feedback would be much appreciated, also whilst I'm getting to know the car, is there anything else I should be looking out for?
Many thanks in advance
