Disconnected white cable on 156 CD player

Hi, I posted this 24 hours ago in the "ICE and Blue and Me" forum and have had no response as yet, anyone on here able to help?
I removed the standard head unit on my 2003 156 2.0 to check that the aerial is firmly connected as a first step towards troubleshooting/improving the radio's reception and found the white (or cream) wire in the main terminal block is 'cut', both ends are protected from making contact with anything metal but I wonder is it supposed to be connected or cut? Don't want to reconnect it without knowing as it might cause damage. CD/radio seems to function ok apart from poor radio reception mentioned.

I have a 1999 Alfa 156 with the factory fitted Phillips Radio CD Player. The radio reception is shocking to say the least.

I would welcome any suggestions.

Kind regards
