Obviously some of the mechanical stuff would need quite an in depth check. I think the issue that people have had (and I know I was one of them a while back) is:
If the car has performance, brakes, turning circle, handling, etc. which you consider bad, then why did you not consider them bad on the test drive?
These are all 'end-product' things. Not things that have to be checked for, but things that are apparent when you drive.
