Hi all, I would like to do a full service on my Alfa Romeo 156 JTS Selespeed now that its on the road…
though the gear box is okish still have to make the gears learn to engage but its drivable.
I still have the engine management light on as well as the Motor Control System Failure pointing to MAF sensor and also Lambda sensors.
But I thought before I start with sensors let me service this car as it stood for almost 2 years coz of the gearbox issue.
Anyway to cut the long story short can anyone advise me on what I need to get to service this car, this is what I know when doing a service, oil change, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, pollen filter, anti-freeze top up or change, check other fluid levels like transmission fluid, brake fluid, hydraulic fluid. Now some of these on here might not need doing this is my first Alfa Romeo ever never owned one before. Can some please advise on what needs doing or watch out for before being tackled?
Air filter….how to go about changing this as it looked restricted access to get to it and also the bolts look so rusty. Someone must have done this before, how do I change the filter and also wanted to remove the MAF sensor to clean it with some electrical contact cleaner I did to my BMW and it seem to have sorted the problem and I wanted to do the same for the Alfa too before I go and buy a new one or a used one off eBay maybe.
Oil filter – where is this damn thing? How do I get to it and change it?
The rest please advise on parts and or what to or not to do pls pls want to do it this weekend before the weather decides otherwise.
