Advice ref snapped cambelt please?
I've got a 04 plate 147 M-jet Lusso with 78,000 ish miles. I've owned it since July, this morning the cambelt snapped.
The garage I had it towed to are unwilling to do any work as they've estimated "from experience of working on other cars, and research" that it would be too much work and "well in excess of a grand". They have said that the belt has snapped and they suspect broken rocker arms, but as far as I can make out, they haven't gone into the engine, would it be evident just from looking under the bonnet?
On the plus side they're letting me leave it on their premises for the time being!
Would any of you have any advice of the best route to getting the most out of what's left of it, or repairing it for a more sensible price?!
I would hate to see it go for just for scrap! Its the first car I've ever owned outright and the best one I've ever had!
Any advice will be very much appreciated!!
