Motor Control System Failure - Again!
About 4 months ago I had a Motor Control System Failure message, which was caused by a camshaft senor failure - which cost me a small fortune to have replaced.
I have just started the car and I have got the same message again. I am assuming that it is due to the same fault, although I suppose it could be.
When I had the fault last time, then engine went into 'protection mode' and I was unable to rev above 3000 rpm. However, this time, then engine can be revved above this and seems to handing okay.
Does the engine 'limp home mode' engage every time the engine management light is on, and if so, why has it not engaged this time?
Has anyone got any ideas what the fault could be, or what might be the most probable cause with the above symptoms?
I suppose I will have to visit the dealer to find out exactly, but I would be interested to hear from anyone who might have experienced, or have knowledge of, this failure message.
Thank for reading,
PS I drive a 1.8 TS
