Hmm - interesting question....
I have a new engine with only 60,000kms.. brand new suspension front and rear (arms, arb's, bilstein b8's and eibach prokits), new cam belt kit, the body and interior is as new....
Adding it all up -
New engine & labour: $6,000
New suspension arms, dampers, arb & labour: about $2500 (can't be bothered adding it up)
Cam belt: $1000
general maintenance over 6 years - god only knows...
Value of the car: $1.50 Although it's as close to factory as you'll get.
There are better investments out there.
Seriously though, JTS's arent V6's.. and the selespeed, as much as I love it, has a stigma attached to it.. so realistically its worth about $AUD8,000 if I'm lucky.
There's a lot of stuff i haven't listed which cost a fortune before the new engine.. so I'm at a point now where it would be uneconomical not to keep it.. So, the car will stay with my family and I'll probably give it to my Son when he starts driving - in about 15 years
I love the car anyway and having driven many cars over the years and many current model cars which are mind numbingly boring in every respect, why would I want to change - outside of buying a GTA.
