With all the furore appearign in the UK motoring press about the 159 you would think that alfa would at least have some form of prelaunch information available for customers - nope .. not a sausage..
Lexus are due to launch their IS250 at the end of november about the same time, about the same pricebracket and definatley the same market as the 159. I have prerelease brochures for it (from may), the specs of the year end cars and their prices will be available for me to peruse and reserve (with a refundable deposit) in the next two weeks, test drives are being discussed for october and the car hasn't even been launched yet. Admittedly there is nothing on show - but if you ask for it a lexus dealer has all the information to hand.
So Mr Kaufell (sp?) here is an example of how to launch a compact exec.
I rang several Alfa dealers today - and they have Nada zip nothing on the car, despite it hitting a portion of pretty much every motoring mag this month. I am hoping things get better - but so far the first hurdle looks a bit too steep for the UK.
The compact exec market is getting cuthroat, customer service is the real differentiator here - if I'm going to spend 25-30K on a car I need to be made feel comfortable that things are getting better....
